Editor / Publisher
The head honcho - the editor's job involves deciding what will be included in the Expedition book, the general layout, coordinating with each member of the book team, ensuring all deadlines are met and generally chivvying the project along. They will most likely need to be in touch with a teacher and will also need to be the main point of contact with Boomerang whilst your book is being set-up, designed and ordered.
Travel Writer / Copy Editor
Choose someone who has a way with words to be responsible for gathering and/or writing the text, ensuring it is spell-checked and ready to supply
on time.
Sales, Marketing & Finance Select your potential ‘The Apprentice' candidate - someone with the gift of the gab who can promote the take-up and ordering of your Expedition Book amongst your tour party and arrange to collect deposits and final payment. Generally speaking, the more books you order the cheaper they are. It's a good idea to keep accurate records of who's paid what, when. It may be appropriate to try and find sponsors or organize some additional fundraising to help subsidise your Expedition Book - contact Boomerang to find out more about our great Christmas fundraising initiative.

Art Director
Our online creation system is simple for anyone to use, offering a wide range of easily accessible colours, backgrounds, fonts & ways to lay pages out. You don't need a professional designer to make a great looking book!
However, if you do have a budding artist or graphic designer either in your expedition team or group of friends, it can be a brilliant project for them to take on & an opportunity to have some work in print, while helping make your book that extra bit special & unique to you.
Chief Photographer / Picture DirectorWe suggest everybody in your tour carries a reasonable digital camera – lets face it they're pretty amazing and also very affordable these days - and get everybody to take loads of photos. Cameras with a 5 megapixel capability will produce very good pictures for your books.
It is also a good idea to have at least one nominated chief photographer, ideally with a little bit of paparazzi-like talent whose responsibility is to get those great shots!
It is important for the chief to be responsible for collecting all the digital images as soon as practically possible, backing them up, selecting the best shots and ensuring they are all in the correct format ready to be uploaded into our editing site.
Staff RepresentativeA Boomerang book project must involve a member a staff whose responsibilities will include final approval of pages, signing the book design off (it can't go to print without a member of staff's signature!) and ensuring the finances are all sorted and final payment is made to Boomerang.
